Cottage Garden

This Cottage Garden was a new construction project. Built on a long but narrow lot, the challenge became how to focus attention on the front door and lead guests from the driveway on the far end of the home to the entrance.

Down-to-Earth Gardens, Inc. designed a staggered, stamped and colored concrete pathway from the driveway defining the beds close to the house and leading the guests to the door. The client installed the sprinkler system to supplement water in very dry conditions, and moved the soil into the garden.

After planting and a year's worth of growth, this is what can be expected in a new garden with proper soil.

DTEGI is happy to help you with the implementation or do it in its entirety. We will work with you to give you the landscape you envision and one that will function in the environment you have.

The cut-flower cottage garden turned out beautifully, with drought-tolerant plants suitable to the Pacific Northwest. This garden is in bloom from spring through fall, with winter interest supplied by colorful heavenly bamboo and brightly-hued stems that are visible once the leaves have fallen.
